Drying Process and Concentrate Preparation Audit

In collaboration with CMT Atomizadores

The Project

CAISA, in collaboration with CMT Atomizadores, carried out a complete technical audit of the drying and concentrate preparation process for a client in the food industry. The objective of the audit was to identify improvement opportunities in the existing process and propose concrete technical solutions to achieve two key client goals.

The first goal was to increase the solids concentration of the liquid to be dried before it enters the atomisation tower, which enables a reduction in the energy consumption of the drying process and an increase in production capacity. The second goal was to increase the particle size of the final powder product, thereby improving its functional properties — flowability, solubility and packing — and its market value.

The audit combined field measurements, analysis of process parameters recorded by the client and process simulations to evaluate the improvement potential at each stage of the installation.

Results

The audit concluded with a detailed technical report that identified the root causes of the process limitations and proposed a prioritised improvement plan based on impact and feasibility. The recommendations from CAISA and CMT Atomizadores provided the client with a clear roadmap for plant modernisation, with return-on-investment estimates for each proposed intervention.
